This week our guest host is Amy from All Things Home ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello from a Tennessee girl with a strong southern accent.
I started my blog, All Things Home, almost three years ago with the help of my encouraging, computer savvy son. It began as a place to share my love of “home”.  It continues to be that and hopefully more.

Three years ago I took a trip to Pennsylvania that changed a lot of who I was.   During that trip, I fell completely in love with the simplicity and beauty of the Amish homesteads I was seeing.  I returned home on a mission for change in my home and in my life.

My blog has become a place to share my love of timeless heirlooms.  It is where I share how simple can be beautiful.  I love searching for that “just right” treasure to bring home.  I love thinking up stories in my mind of how a piece was once used in a farmhouse many years ago.  What stories may have been told around an old farm table are fascinating to me.

I see beauty in things that other people may see as old and worn out.  Rusty and chippy are beautiful to me and show me that something has been loved…loved a whole bunch.
Of all the treasures in my life, there is one that is far greater than all the others and that is my faith.
Faith, family, friends, and home are what All Things Home is all about.

Iced Tea...Texas Style

Howdy howdy! I hope you are all safe and sound and tornado free. As bloggers, we never know exactly where our audience is. You could be reading this in Alaska, Hong Kong or Moscow for all I know! That's such a neat concept.

I am in Houston,TX. And let me tell you...summer smacked us in the face this week! It went from mild to 90 overnight. The Dallas/ Fort Worth area is the place I call home. I still haven't mentally become a Houstonian. But I digress...

When the temps soar and the cicadas starts buzzing, there's only one drink for a true Texan. Iced tea of course! Setting up a drink station is one of the simplest and most elegant ways to entertain during the summer, and it's certainly not my original idea. All over Pinterest you can see the most beautiful and over the top drink stations (and cocoa stations, and candy stations...). But even when you're only having a few guests over, you can whip up a pared down version in no time.  I like the idea of clearing off a piece of furniture away from the kitchen (where the crowds congregate during a get together) and setting out a "help yourself" drink buffet.

This is a very small and simple example. Perfect for a small get together. This is in my dining room on the hutch, but wouldn't it be wonderful on a big porch?

I bought some little chalkboard stands at a floral supply store on my recent trip to New Hampshire. I gathered just a few items that I had on hand. The lemons were left over from our crawfish boil this weekend, and the mint is from my garden.

Mint, lemon and sugar are just the basics. I love adding mango chunks or orange slices on a pretty plate too.

And isn't this dough bowl cute? It is from a great shop called Farmhouse Decor. Ladies...you MUST check out this online store!

I love the way the bowl has been distressed. Check it out!

You would never know that it isn't super old.
I've never seen anything like it in a store. It really is beautifully unique and well made.
I know I will be using this wonderful trencher for every season. Won't it be perfect for autumn, full of little white pumpkins, apples or acorns? Please go check out Farmhouse Decor. The owner is a a blogger too! Her name is Barb and she would be delighted to have you stop by HERE

I also did another painting recently. What do you think?
It is available at my Etsy shop HERE

So, to finish up our little visit, here's a nice cold refreshing glass of tea just for you...

And here's your sugar oxoxoxox

Hope you have a relaxing and stress free week. Especially my tornado ally friends...stay safe!

Each week we highlight one of our favorite bloggers as a special Guest Host.

This week our Guest Host is Sara
from Sweet Magnolias Farm

Hi Y'all .. we are Sara and Abbey Of Sweet Magnolias Farm. We are a daughter and mother team and the absolute Best of Friends.  It's such an absolute pleasure to be featured on this week's "The Scoop Party."
Having grown up surrounded by the country life, it’s no surprise that we share farm style living through our designs, decorating and blogging. We remember the days on the farm and long to return to a simpler time , a place where the quietness brings a sense of peace, where life moves at a slower pace, and the beauty of the landscape that surrounds you makes your heart sing each day.
Our blog  "Sweet Magnolias Farm" began ..as our outlet to share a little bit about ourselves, our creativity and to connect with like minded creative women. We Love Sharing some of our tried and true Simple Homemade Recipes, Free Printables from our personal antique ephemera collection, features of our newest offerings be they online or at one of our upcoming markets, Or favorite decorating ideas.

Farmhouse Style is truly who we are at heart. We are just two Old Fashioned Farm Girls that love the simplicity of making a house a home and sharing that through our Farmhouse Offerings. We love the feel of an old farmhouse as so many kindred spirits do, but for many of us an old farmhouse just isn’t an option. We find ourselves living in cookie-cutter houses and desperately trying to season them with warmth and charm.
Our life in the country along with our Midwestern and Southern roots and our Love of Linens inspired us to dream of designing and creating farmhouse goods that evoke comfort and down home living.
Our line of farmhouse goods is our way of seasoning your home sweet home. Each of our farmhouse goods is inspired by good old fashioned country living: evenings spent rocking on the porch swing with a glass of sweet tea and the good book; watching the neighbors pass by in their old classic truck with farm fresh produce being carried to the local farmers market; or cute and charming country quips that fly out of the mouth so naturally that it doesn't even take one by surprise.
We invite you all to stop by our blog and say howdy ... and come enjoy a stroll through our Sweet Magnolias Farm Etsy shop...Our Designs are created here at the farmhouse, from our Flour Sack Towels to our hard washed burlap Runners to our One of a Kind Graphic Images. With each design and with each item that we make  a little piece of our hearts , the work of our hands, and the love for what we do travels to homes far and wide.
Wishing you all "Farmhouse Blessings" Sara & Abbey (Daughter & Mother)
