Making Antiqued Book Bundles...

My mom has a beautiful arrangement on her dining table (above), a cloche full of book bundles. I asked her for the recipe so I could make some too! I'm a bit late to the book bundle making club...but hey, there might be one person out in blogland who doesn't know how to make these.

It's as easy as one-two-three.

1. Rip off the outter book cover and any ugly pages.

2. Rub coffee on the outside of the book with a coffee dampened paper towel. Toss books in the dryer for a minute or two.

3.Bound with twine.

I love things that are practically free and super fast like this! Now I just need to go scrounge up su-more books...

awesome idea! never too late to share great ideas. I had never heard of this technique. I bundle vintage books for display, but not without covers, and I've never attempted to make the book look old. It makes for a lovely display.

Wow, I've never heard of the coffee-into the dryer trick. I bet that does magic on inexpensive paperbacks. thanks so much for sharing the inspiration over here at VIF! xo

I am having a Love Affair with old books that are tattered and aged, many missing their covers and with a Sage & Sepia palette to them... so this idea is just perfect! Thanks for the tutorial... getting harder to find the real deal now as many Thrifts must toss any damaged books assuming they have no aesthetic or practical value! *Gasp and Le Sigh*
And what doesn't look amazing nestled underneath a Cloche?! *winks*
