Welcome to Week 8 of Cowgirl Up! Link Party . . .

Welcome to Week 8 of
 Cowgirl Up! Link Party . . .

the party with a cowgirl can-do  spirit!

1 Party, 4 Blogs

Hi friends! Linsey from the Farmhouse Porch here! It's beginning to feel like spring in my neck of the blog. Here are some of the fresh ideas that caught my eye from last week's "Cowgirl Up!" party...

I have the blues...in a good way! I'm loving this robins' egg wreath  by Uncommon Design Online

MISS FLIBBERTIGIBBET shows us how wax can add the perfect finishing touch to a painted hutch. Didn't this turn out fabulous?

Here we have a charming example of cottage DIY artwork. This collage style piece looks great with a robins' egg blue and brown classic color combo. By Noting Grace

I love jar dispensers don't you? I always forget to make them but after seeing the neat ones Anne made at Design Dreams by Anne it's on the top of my to do list!

Spring will certainly send you out into the yard for a project or two soon. Samm at Little House in the Big D shows us how to turn a small forgotten side yard into a lovely  landscaped space. I just wish I looked this good while gardening...check out those guns! : )

Let's see what you've got for us this week!

3 Big Things for Show & Tell!!!

3 Big Things for Show & Tell!!!

1. We are going to be on America's Funniest Home Videos this Sunday (3/25)! Look for the video where my daughter reaches for an Easter egg and gets a "hissing" surprise instead. (6 p.m. central time on ABC I think)

2. This Saturday is my Fort Worth Gallery Night art show. I have been painting like the wind. I'm really excited and of course I'll share pics of the unveiled paintings and the show when I return. : )

I hate that I'm so impatient. It's probably my worst trait. So before you see these pics and think you'd change the light fixture or window treatment...relax! I've already mentally taken care of it. Now I just need to physically take care of it. In fact that little china cabinet/secretary with early 90's crackle finish is just temporary. Something bigger and cooler is in the works (project #43 on the list...) and I am sooo excited to dive in.  I have an a-ma-zing light fixture already. But getting my overworked hubby to help me hang it is taking a backseat to bigger projects we are working on in the yard. I've been planning a big dining room re-do for quite some time! It's the room that everybody sees when they enter my home and I was tired of the dark black furniture. In my attempt to lighten things up I sold the black china cabinet. Funny enough, the sweet girl who picked it up took a look into the garage and said "Wow, you two are real project people huh?". That made me feel so good! Little does she know we're good project STARTERS...haha.

Here's a (Horrible) BEFORE ...
*I was rearranging...it wasn't always this disheveled

And  AFTER...

Like a breath of spring huh? I actually want to go into this room now! Thanks for reading, I have been reading all of your comments and linky party link ups. Thank you for hanging in there 'til things settle down over here in my little corner of the world.
