Today's painting...

My daughter's crayola watercolor paints were just laying there, next to my antique encyclopedia agriculture pics of cows so I thought I'd try one. I think I'll even try to add the vintage lettering below him to look like the old "plate" illustration.

How now brown cow?

He'd look good framed on a shelf with burlap and some ironstone around him...dontcha think?

Practice, practice, practice!

I'm also going to my booth today. A fellow blogger is buying two paintings. I'm so excited to meet her!

My project today...A FALL BANNER!

Nothing big and impressive, but it was fun and easy. I'm a rusher. I need to move on to the next project quickly...I didn't really measure anything. I say just go with the flow on a project like this, especially if you're not selling it. Give it a try freehand. It looks so much more homey and in my opinion is less stressful. I cut the letters out of black construction paper after drawing them freehand...looking at a font online. Then I pasted the letters on my old bookpage triangles and glued those to twine. All while doing dishes, breaking up fights between a 6 and 2 year old, and singing in heels and pearls.

Cute huh?

I found my old girl scout badges. They almost look like antiques!

I feel old when I find old childhood stuff. What was once so shiney and new and special, now looks dated and retro. My 6 year old daughter thought they were pretty cool though. Glad I held on to these...
