Master Bedroom Change and Thrift Store Lace

Yesterday I showed you my master bedroom here. You guys gave me some incredible compliments and I thank you! I won't say that I killed myself cleaning it for the photoshoot, but hey...I clipped rosemary! And I made the bed. I only do that for special occassions. LOL

Something in the room was really bothering me. That big metal thing above the bed. I had just moved it into the room recently and it just prayed on my mind. I should have gone with my gut instincts the first time around, when I considered putting this old mirror up there with a ribbon. And I must give credit for the ribbon/mirror combo...except I can't remember whose blog I recently saw this on. It was someone who recently redid a bedroom. If you guys know who I'm thinking of let me know so that I can insert her name here. I was really enthralled with her style. If I recall it was in whites/creams like mine.

I want you to noticed my better half's nightstand on the left. I just don't understand why he wouldn't want a fresh flower arrangement, a big crusty corbel and a stack of decorating books right there. Hmph...the things I give up for love! haha

Before the rearranging bug hit me today I had to run an errand. We're going to a wedding this weekend and I needed to go get a wedding gift. My favorite thrift store just happens to be on the way. The thing about finding treasure at the thrift store is going often. SO I never pass up the chance to run in. I'm glad I did today!

Vintage lace curtain for the awkward wavy glass window over the bathtub...2.00

I put a lace panel over a sheer panel. I love the effect! I still get lots of light, but I don't sacrifice privacy.

And this huge rectangular lace trimmed tablecloth. Possible window treatment?

I am so envious of you sewers out there! I've tried a few times and just end up needing anger management.

What do you think of the mirror?

Is the mirror gold? It looks like an antique gold patina. Very nice mirror.

Love the mirror! One can never have too many mirrors. Well, that's what I think, anyway. :@

Sewing is just like cooking. Follow the recipe and it will work out. Most of the time.

I think the mirror looks much better. As for the sewing, have you looked into getting some basic lessons, once you have those down you really can do almost anything, just practice. There are several sites that have videos on how to sew different projects. Good luck.

Hi Linsey,
I love the mirror. The iron was good, but this is a little more "you" in that it's less commonly used. Isn't it just the way things go - you post your bedroom, and the very next day, things change! Oh, well. Change is good. Keepin' it fresh. :)

I love the mirror! It's such a unique shape. And I love how it's hanging from the ribbon, although, if I may ask, is it also hanging from a safe hook as well? I only ask, because I just recently put a mirror over my bed, and the first few nights, it would keep me awake, as I was worried it would fall. Other than that, I absolutely love the reflection it gives. Love the white bedding as well :)

The mirror is a wonderful touch -- especially hanging with the ribbon. Love your thrift finds and your idea for that awkward window!

Love the mirror Linsey and your new linens! When you want a differ look you can always do a shelf above your bed and lean the mirror. I want to do that in our master. I found the mirror but it is a bit pricey for me so I have to try and find another. LOVE your room!

I share your envy. My mom was a great seamstress. I was always too busy! I love it all! White always make me calm and makes me smile! Oh, what I could do with all that lace and fabric if I could sew!

love the mirror with the ribbon. And don't be too jealous. I am a sewer. I spent 10 hours sunday and 10 hours saturday doing it. And believe me, I wanted to throw the machine out the window several times. I try to go for a walk but sometimes still need anger management classes :).

Gorgeous, Linsey! Love the whites! Great finds, too. I'll bet you could whip something up with either iron-on hem tape, hot glue or even just simply with ribbon.

I recently redid my master bedroom and was in the same quandary since I live in Sacramento and it gets very hot here too, but my husband and I compromised on a retro looking floor fan so I could have my gorgeous chandelier. It's amazing. A win win! My husband LOVES his fan!! Check out the photos on my Pinterest :O) http://pinterest.com/christinebaker/my-house-projects/
