...a jadeite (ish) pepper shaker
..an old bread factory loaf pan (I think???) to store collections
...an old black clock that still ticks, rather loudly
...a very big old graduated baby (?) bottle to add to the crusty shelf
...another big jar for $1
...and lastly two unusual items that are project bound. Here is a little hint...
Today was an exciting day on the hunt. As you can see I found some cute small items, some of which were from the thrift store.
I use to be a haphazard collector. I'd just buy whatever caught my eye. I'm enjoying collecting so much more now that I have set limits on what to grab. I look for things that add to an exhisting collection and I try to group things by color, style and even age. I'm still learning how to control my urge to buy something I fall in love with. If it doesn't fit with my existing decor I leave it on the shelf. That's one of the reasons I love blogging! I love to LOOK at log cabins and dark european decor and even retro stuff...I love it all but I don't buy it. I find cool niche blogs and admire from afar.
Thank you so much for coming by to look. If you know anything about the history of any of my items shown I love hearing about it!
Have a thankful Thursday-
♥Linsey

You have more willpower than me. Sometimes I still buy things, hoping to find a way to use them later. Can't imagine what your project will be, so that will be interesting to see.
My aunt used to collect jadeite. I've always loved how cute it looks in a collection. My favorite thing is the loaf pan and how you have it decorated.
Thanks so much for visitng my blog and commenting!
Hello! Visiting from French Country Cottage! I sure enjoyed your post! Your photos are so lovely and you have found some real treasures for sure! I also adore the photo of your darling little girls in the woods...like a page from a Jane Austen novel! I'll be following you!
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
Have always loved the color of jadite. Liking the big black clock too even if he is a loudmouth. Great finds.
I hear you on trying to rein in the collections - it's hard! But in the end, it ends up looking so much better when it's well edited! You found some great finds.

You found some really cute items! Thank you for sharing your wonderful post at Potpourri Friday!
Great finds. I know what you mean about having to pick and choose what to buy when we love it all! Having a place to resell helps a little. :-)

A good rule it to buy what you love, somehow you will always make it work. I like your collections, Laura
Hi I found you through Becky's "Sweet Cottage Dreams". I love your finds, I have collected Jadeite for about 35yr. The dish with the lid
is not old, but came from Cracker Barrel. They sold a lot of reproduction a few years back. Your other Jadeite is old and very good
finds. The large jar looks like a baby bottle, I can't tell how large
it is but they made baby bottles like that in the 30's and 40's. I have
one similar that was mine when I was a baby. That tells you how old I am. LOL. Your girls are beautiful. I have 5 grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 of them are twins. They are so much fun, hubby and I have had a ball with all of our grandchildren. It is true you can spoil them and then send them home. LOL. I love your blog and will be back to visit. I don't have a blog, but I love to blog hop and I really enjoy it. It is so much fun to see others with the same interest as I have. Love your music too. I am from central Louisiana.

Wonderful finds! I love them all!
Great finds. My sister has an extensive collection of jadeite--which I love, but don't collect. I admire your discipline in thrifting. I try to be more discerning than I was when I was younger, but every once in a while, I slip back into my old habits and just grab what I like.
Love the jadeite pieces! I still haven't learned self-control when I find something I love, but then again I also have two married daughters to share with. :@
Thanx for visiting my blog. Enjoyed your post...I too have had to "resist the urge" to buy everything that I love...I already run "amuck" of all the fun collectibles, but eventually run out of room! I keep an antique booth at local antique malls to circulate my discards....LOL Tiffany
I love your finds. That pepper jar is fantastic. A little green with jealousy....

Great items Linsey! You have much better restrain than I. Our home is kinda a mix of several styles.
GREAT finds! I love the bread pans - I have one hanging in my garage and it holds my paint brushes.
Love your great finds!
I keep telling myself that I am a collector, but the reality is maybe, I MIGHT be a hoarder...[giggle]! New follower. Love your COLLECTIONS!
Audrey
Love the soft greens in the first pic! I'm a new follower. We live in a log cabin, but it's a new one - we built it about 6 years ago. Come visit if you'd like - www.twobearsfarm.com.
Ha! The title of your post sure got my attention. I also find it helpful to be focused in what I buy, then I feel less guilty bringing things home:-)
Tracey
Boy, if that's crusty, you should see some of MY treasures I work with :) LOL
Thanks for sharing- your stuff is GREAT!
Visiting from Cherished Treasures SUNDAY BLOG LOVE party today!,

I love the look of the items sorted in the bread pans. Actually, I love everything you found!
You had me at jadite! LOL! New follower here! ~ Barbara
Great finds- and yes, I used to be the same way about collecting. I love the shade of green in your treasures-beautiful!Thanks for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday!
I decided a while back that the difference in a collector and a hoarder is simple...
Hoarders keep the bags and boxes that they haul their loot home in...
collectors hide the bags and boxes in the bottom of the trashbin outside so their hubbys can't find the proof!
Happy Hoarding... er... Collecting!
Thanks so much for linking up at Sunday Blog Love..I love to thrift shop too and tell myself the same thing...control...but then I second guess myself and sometimes not happy for not grabbing it...It's definitely not an easy thing to walk away...love all your finds too!
