The Scoop Link Party-Decor and so much more!

Welcome back To the weekly linky party that features the scoop on the best posts from around the web!

The Scoop

More exposure + less time = win win!

    We are
Anita from Cedar Hill Ranch,
Linsey from Farmhouse Porch,
Debbie from Confessions of a Plate Addict
and introducing
Anne of White Lace Cottage.

Hello once again!! And welcome to another Scoop Link Party! And if you are new to my blog The Farmhouse Porch... welcome to YOU too! Today we will actually visit a porch. But not just any porch. It is a porch I hold very near and dear to my heart . My parents' porch!! Many happy memories have happened here. I thought you might like to see it.

My mom took an old boring chandelier and added all kinds of cool stuff to it. Every time I go to visit she has some artsy new project to show me and we constantly bounce creative ideas off of each other. The acorn does not fall far from the tree.

If you turn around on the porch and peek inside you can catch a glimpse of the living room.

Only 91 degrees...this is downright chilly for a Fort Worth summer day!

Another view down the length of the porch. My daughters were rocked in that porch swing many many hours during the baby years...

And if you turn to the right there is a seating area made out of custom wood benches that can all be moved together to form an outdoor bed. It was all sorts of crazy when I took this picture. Kids in swimsuits, dogs wanting to play frisbee, and mom scooting around me while I tried to snap pics as she cleaned up after us! Sure, we could have spruced it up and set the table and "staged" it (for about 3 seconds until the herd of ankle biters came tearing through), but I wanted you to see it as we live. Mop handle and all. :D

I hope you enjoyed this very short little porch tour!
Now let's get this Scoop Party started baby!

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!!!

We are so excited to announce a new member of THE SCOOP.  Anne from White Lace Cottage is joining us!!

We are very excited to have her join our team.  We are
Anita from Cedar Hill Ranch,
Linsey from Farmhouse Porch,
Debbie from Confessions of a Plate Addict
and introducing
Anne of White Lace Cottage.

I am absolutely thrilled to have Anne join our group! She has been a great online friend since my earliest blogging days.

In fact, as I was looking back at old posts, like this one about my entry way, I noticed Anne almost always commented on my posts with the sweetest and most encouraging words.

One of the great things about blogging is finding kindred spirits. People who have a similar "vision", and feeling a connection with the people whose little face icons pop up in your comments section and give you a feeling of  "Howdy neighbor!" in the virtual world. That's how I felt about Anita of Cedar Hill Ranch too! She and I met online and have since become good friends in real life. And of course I can't forget Pamela of From My Front Porch to Yours. She's a fellow blogger AND my neighbor. We wave to each other everyday in the carpool line while we're dropping the kiddos off at school.

I hope our Scoop party not only offers your blog some good exposure, but a chance to poke around and find your kindred spirits in blog land. Make sure to leave them a comment make them feel special today!

We are
Anita from Cedar Hill Ranch,
Linsey from Farmhouse Porch,
and Debbie from Confessions of a Plate Addict.

Hey there friends! Linsey here, from The Farmhouse Porch! As those of you who follow me on MY FACEBOOK PAGE know, I have been on the go all summer. I've been excitedly getting prepared for my big trip to Boston and New Hampshire in a few weeks to be in my best friend's wedding.

Me...checking out the barn for the wedding last winter

And what an awesome rustic shabby wedding it will be! In a historic dairy barn!! I am having my dress made in Fort Worth (even though I live in Houston...long story) so me and my little girls have been making the 5 hour drive back and forth to stay with my mom and do wedding stuff. As those of you who are moms know, you have to give the kiddos stuff to look forward to as well. Like a pit stop at the wonderfully kitsch "Dinosaur World"!

And of course lots of this...

And AnTiQuInG! Of course!!

The summer days are long, but they still don't seem long enough to pack in all of the fun and family time adventures we want to do. If you are a new visitor to The Farmhouse Porch Blog, please leave me a comment and let me know about you and your blog. I'd love to come visit you too!

Soon we will be adding an exciting new host to our party, so stay tuned!

Now...onto the show! Below are just a few of the wonderful visitors from last week's party.

Soon we will be adding an exciting new host, so stay tuned!

Summer is a busy season for everyone so we have decided to wait until fall to include our favorite guests as hosts. We hope that you are enjoying extra time with your family and having lots of outdoor fun!

Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict
This is Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict and I am really excited because this week is my first turn to host The Scoop! I have been sharing my ideas with you on my blog for almost five years now and I have had so much fun this week getting to see yours! I am amazed at your creativity and talent! Thanks so much for sharing your creations at our party!
And now for a few things that caught my eye this week…

Hydrangea Arrangement
I was inspired by this beautiful arrangement of blue lace cap hydrangeas from Hymns & Verses! It just says summer, doesn't it? My own lace caps are blooming and now I think I will cut some and bring them in the house!

21 Rosemary Lane Nautical Vase
I love this nautical vase from 21 Rosemary Lane! You will not believe what she used to make it!

Vintage Trunk Coffee Table 5
Isn’t this fabulous? I love this unique coffee table that Creating a Life made from a vintage steamer trunk!

Shabby Brocante
This patriotic tablescape from Shabby Brocante really spoke to me…not only because it was just in time for the 4th of July, but because she thrifted the plates from three different locations over time! You know I love that!

Twigg Studios blueberry mojito popsicles
And finally, here’s a great idea for cooling off this summer from Twigg studios…blueberry mojito popsicles! Doesn’t that sound wonderful?

It's ok to change your style!

Do you ever stumble across a blogger or creative person who is so fresh and so inspiring that you break free from the chains that bind you to you current decor/ color scheme and try something new? Every so often I do, and their ideas light a flame in me. They get my gears turnin' and get me excited about new projects and new treasures to hunt for.

But before I get to that...

(A.D.D. moment here...)

Look at my flower arrangements! I made these yesterday on a whim. :) I wanted something big and fluffy and fresh on the table. I needed it to be free and be something that took about 10 minutes to do. I took the scissors into the yard and started clipping away. My honeysuckle and rosemary are growing like weeds, as well as the potato vine. I also threw in a few crepe myrtles, zinnias and some tall yellow things my neighbor let me steal. I had to disturb a few bugs and a baby lizard. Sorry critters!

I also had about 10 lemons in the fridge that were given to me for free weeks ago. Can't let those go to waste! I saw something like this on Pinterest once and I must have filed it away in the back of my head for just such an opportunity. I'm pretty proud of myself for figuring this one out without any directions!

OK...back to what I was saying. Now before I reveal who I've been lovingly stalking, I want you to know that you will roll your eyes and pity me for having only just recently discovered their greatness. You all have been following these two bloggers for quite some time I am sure.

The first one is The (oh so famous) Farm Chicks. I love the berry reds and crisp gingham fabrics against old white weathered barn wood. I bought the Farm Chicks books and have loved every page, especially the Christmas one! Yes, I totally want to go to their antique show and don't rub it in if you get to go all the time.

The second blogger is Aunt Ruthie of Sugar Pie Farmhouse. She truly is one of the sweetest ladies on earth, and her cooking is just plain beautiful to watch. I love how she uses old kitchen utensils and jadeite bowls for her batter and pie making. You can just smell the cinnamon apple spices wafting through your computer monitor. And her house is lovely too! To top it off, she is a talented writer and lovingly writes inspiring and spiritual posts.

Sugar Pie Farmhouse

So, in the spirit of these lovely ladies, I thought I'd set up a colorful farmhouse vignette...just for fun! A little mix of my style and their colorful farmhouse style. The trick with decorating is not inventing the wheel...but RE inventing the wheel! Putting your own twist on the breadstick so to speak.

Ta-da!

Like a bowl of cherries...chippy reds and vintage tablecloths just make me smile! Summertime just feels like the right time for stretching my decorating legs, trying out bolder colors and relaxing those rules a little bit.

Many of these items are for sale too! In my etsy shop HERE. Some of them will be added to the shop tomorrow.

Oh, and one more important thing. I let my 4 year old get a tattoo...

Heehee

Just don't look at the part in her hair. How do you other moms get it so precise?

Hope you are having a colorful, fun filled summer holiday week!

☼Linsey

•I want to add that I was not compensated or approached by these bloggers for a write up. These are just my own little thoughts about people inspiring me now.
