Let me start by saying that I really do have plans for these items. I'll tell you about that someday soon.
Okay, the loot...
First of all I DUG under a pile of old linens because I saw the corner of this old framed photo peeking out. I actually saw the back first, you know how old pics have that dark crumpled timeworn look to the back? I saw that and knew it might be something good. Digging paid off!
Look at this old Ball jar. I dated it to between 1930-1960 using this neat website. You can date your Ball jars by looking at how the script is written. Check it out! source: Dating Ball Jars
Here's the back of the neat ironstone-ish platter I found. This was another item that was buried under some knick knacky junk. I noticed the edge of it while walking up to the cashier area. I fell in love the crazing and patina.
The big bowl is the bottom to a two piece wash set I'm sure. It was sitting outside covered in dirt for $3. I can fill this with a billion things! Old book bundles this time, but I'm thinking magazines on my crusty white coffee table. And there's that little REAL old English ironstone pitcher I found at this same thrift store last week. I paid a good chunk for it, by thrift store standards, but she completed my collection on the mantle.
Lastly I found this giant old jar with the rusty white lid and thick wavy glass. Yet another item that I will have no problem putting to good use.
Please don't forget to join the 4 blog linky party, Cowgirl Up! tonight!!! It was a roaring success last week.
Remember, you link up one post and it shows up on FOUR BLOGS! Yee-haw to that right? : D

I don't like to cook much anymore but I sure love vintage kitchen items and kitchen vignettes!
Love this. I'm going to have to go look up all my jars now. A friend of mine also just got handed down some blue ones that were her parents. I bet she'd like to know how old they really are. Thanks! Hope you'll stop over and see me at Quirky Vistas sometime.
