Turn an OLD WINDOW into a mudroom coat hanger...

I can't remember if I previously posted this but here it is. While skimming through my new favorite blog,InMyOwnStyle

I remembered the old window I repurposed and thought I'd share it. I simply printed off the font I wanted, taped it to the backs of the windows and painted them on with oil paint. I had the old hooks in a drawer and screwed them in by hand. Not bad for a one hour project! Not a great picture,I know, but the window is up at the shop and this was the only picture I had of the thing here on my home computer. By the way...this window can be yours! It is for sale at my booth in "Frou Frou Galore-Boutique and crafters market" in Old Town Spring,Houston.

Homemade biscuits...

Look at my biscuits! First time. Aren't they beautiful? I don't have a "biscuit" cutter so I decided to make square ones. Taste just as good. Nothing says FARMHOUSE like some big fluffy hot biscuits!

Gonna try the glitter letter banner tonight...

So glad I have my followers. I love you guys...without you I wouldn't be blogging and I'd be talking to the wall! THANK yOU!♥ Your support of just "being there" during my fledgling days means more than you know. Now some random pics from my workroom!

Any neat ideas for these antique linens?

What could I do with these? Any ideas on how to display them in an unexpected way?

I have the urge to shabby some stuff!

So here's the before shots. Well, not really "before" because I already primered them and painted them some. Hopefully tomorrow I can post the end results! When I move to my new bigger and better spot in the shop in a couple of weeks I want to have lots of good shabby, creamy, neutral things ready to sell.

I've had these plaster architectual thingys in the closet for years. I think a nice patina with some pastel paints under a creamy white, then some sanding and waxing will give them new life. The two curtain corbels would look great alone as little shelves mounted on a wall with white plates standing on them, huh? I think my daughters' pacifier is a nice tough back there too. : )

Paintin' & Glitterin'

..and fritterin'? Accourding to hubby,yes. : )

My find of the day at the thrift store...

First of all, the sad news. I found this gorgeous old chemistry beaker for .79 cents. Knocked it over and broke it as soon as I got home. I almost cried. Seriously...my eyes welled up. It was that cute.

Coming in a distant second was this collection of old white santa mugs. Going to the thrift stores on Sunday and Monday are the way to go...and I was there when the doors opened, with many other antique scavengers. Anyways...here's the mugs. Sell or keep?

Finished my rolled book page wreath!!!!

I see little flaws here and there with my execution...but I still love the way my rolled old book page pumpkin wreath came out. Not as grand as the one I found online...but it's a good practice wreath. I think I'll keep this one and make a bunch more to sell at the shop! I hope everyone thinks they're as neat as I do.

Start by making a bunch of these

I hot glued mine to paper plates (the really thick dixie kind)after I sort-of layed them out to see how it sgiuld fit together...

I asked Shadow if she would stay on permanant display with the wreath..."as if Mom."

I've always wanted a walk in pantry and now I finally have one!!! Woo HOO!

Although it is only big enough to step in 2 feet and turn in circles...it's a step in the right direction. I've always wanted a beautiful pantry, all Martha Stewart like and organized. So here is the organized side of my pantry ( I won't show you the ugly "food" side that we actually USE). I'd love to paint it a pale color in there and put one of these frosted glass pantry doors on, or maybe a cute shabby ornate screen door like this (notice the adorable fork handle)...

I'd like to thank my family,God and the academy for this award....

And now to see how many i've got...1...2...3...

***UPDATE***

So I notice a little too late that... I'm ripping pages out of a book printed in 1888!!! Oops. I started to wonder when I pulled out a big folded map of PRUSSIA! ***BUT***I have 35 Of these leatherbound encyclopedia beauties. I think I paid $20 at an estate sale in Ridglea 10 yrs ago. Oh well. I picked the most beat up one of the bunch and it's in the name of art. Like I said I've got gobs more.

Perfect for Farmhouse Porch, eh? : D

Budget chalkboard lampshade makeover...

After visiting several "budget design" blogs this morning I began to mentally rumage through my house for discarded items that needed a cheapy makeover. I bought this little french rooster lamp at dollar general months ago for like $8. I had this old lampshade and a small bottle of chalkboard paint. Viola! I think the rest is pretty self explanatory. Should look cute in a dark nook somewhere...

Let me show you MY suburban farmhouse...

FARMHOUSE PORCH booth is set up!

I will be moving to a BIGGER, BETTER space right at the entrance of the shop in a couple of weeks. I need to find a tall, shelf-like display unit to use in my NEW space. Sorta like the one I practically gave away on craigslist recently. (GRRRRR) Anyways, here's a few snapshots of the items at the shop right now. I'm trying to purge out all this old stuff so I can fill it with new goodies in time for the holidays. I'm tired of looking at all or it. Do you guys get that way? My house will never stay the same because I need to rotate my decor the way I rotate my wardrobe.

Let me show you MY suburban farmhouse...

We just moved to the Houston area about a month ago from DFW. My house is (and always will be) a work in progress. I am perplexed on what to do with my dining room, which is in shambles as you can see above. It lends itself to dark colors but as you see I am drawn to creamy whites and sagey, grass greens. Any suggestions?

Our black lab shadow insists on sneaking onto the sofa at night, leaving a nest of black hair behind. I decided to stop fighting it and nestled her bed up on the corner of the sectional we rarely use. She's getting old and the poor girl deserves some cushioning.
These canisters were a house warming gift from my wonderful mother in law. I found them at Pier1 of all places, but I thought they looked so retro-farmhouse! And of course I loved the jadeite green color. ♥
