Just one more for today... I saved the best for last!!

Ok, I know I'm really pushin' the paintings on you guys lately. What can I say, I go through painting spurts. I've been painting most of the day. To those of you who've stopped by and left a comment, if I haven't come to visit you today I promise I'm on my way tomorrow!

Today was all about reworking paintings I had laying around. I added layers and layers of different stains to this one to give it an aged look.

Pardon the poor picture quality. I had every light on in the house and just couldn't get a decent shot. I couldn't wait to share it though...

I am so in love with this!!!  I think this is one of my fave paintings yet. It looks so good in my hutch. It will be bittersweet if it sells.

It looks "glisten-y" because it is still wet, which makes it very hard to photograph.

I think it would look neat above a stove...on the back-splash. I will take more pics later. The pics don't do the color justice. The tobacco stain and scratchiness don't show up.

Guess I better hop into bed. Happy Friday!

♥Linsey

Today's New Painting

This pastoral scene, which I call "The Grazing Pasture", has a French Country feel. I just finished it this afternoon.
The Grazing Pasture, Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, 12x18", $225

The painting is still wet, fresh off the easel. It can stay "as is" or I can antique it with a tinted glaze for a more time worn appearance.

I use only the highest quality paints, brushes, mediums and canvases to create a one of a kind piece of art that can be passed down for generations.

New Stuff!

Maybe I have been overlooking them, but I haven't come across many (affordable) neat old weather vanes. I've been on the hunt for one lately. Of course I could never afford a "true" copper folk art antique weather vane. I was shocked recently to see one appraised for hundreds of thousands of dollars on the Antique Roadshow.

But I'm pretty thrilled with my little weather vane. I think I'll name her "The Black". I love "The Black Stallion" the movie.

I also picked up a couple of green frogs to display postcards and what not.

I'm rushing through this post because we're going for a swim in the neighbors new pool and my kids are about burst with excitement.

Enjoy your holiday!

2 New Paintings and a photo of God Smiling

I have two new paintings to share...

"Pear and Cloche" Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, $400, 18x24"

"The Edge of Town" 12x12" Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

I'm loving the cloche & pear painting against my green wall. If she doesn't get adopted, she can be part of the family. :)

And lastly...this.
I don't have big, earth shaking spiritual moments. Rather, I feel like God is saying hello in little quiet moments like this, when I pause to look at his unparalleled work of art- the world. From the enormity of the sky  to the pattern of a butterflies wing, no detail is incorrect.
I stepped into my backyard and saw this sky yesterday. And I instantly felt God smiling upon me.

Every time I look at this picture now, I get that feeling again.

Your host this week: Linsey from the Farmhouse Porch

Welcome to the party neighbors! The summer sun is starting to sizzle here in Houston. Is it warming up where you are? If you're anything like me, you've turned your attention to all things patio and garden. You've pulled out the shorts and flip flops and made a bee line for your local garden center to wander the isles. At home the patio furniture is getting fluffed and arranged in preparation for BBQ's and lazy days.

I was excited to see the change of seasons reflected in your links last week. I'd gladly spend an afternoon relaxing on these gorgeous porches...

I really enjoyed reading about life on a dairy farm on Hymns and Verses, where Doreen shared this cute "Farm Fresh Milk" sign

Leone Design adds time worn patina to a cute little side table. I think the chippy painted box is the icing on the cake, don't you?

Thank you to each and every one of you! I seriously agonized over who to feature this week. I also fell in love with a few links that didn't link back to "Cowgirl Up!" and thus weren't eligible for a feature. It made me sad. :(
If you weren't featured this week, I may have featured you on the Farmhouse Porch's Facebook page. Make sure you check there too!
Hugs and Happy Hunting,
Linsey
