HOUSE TOUR Part I...Loads of PICS!!!

My parents have a beautiful house. My mother, a floral designer and professional artist, shares my love for all things crusty and farmhouse. She's my best shopping buddy! We'll gladly skip the mall to rumage through an architectual scrapyard anyday.

My Dad is a computer savvy, semi-professional photographer. I say semi because he only does it as a hobby but he's good enough to go pro! He is also a retired naval officer. You will notice his "vintage submarine" themed office in some of the pictures shown.

Here is the dining room. Recently updated with brick pavers and a sliding barn door my parents made by hand.

And the kitchen...

The entry...

The master bedroom...

Randoms...

Dad's office...

Phew, that was a lot of pics. But there are many more to come! Stay tuned for part II which will feature the living room and outside of the house (barn and garden house included) which is just as beautiful as the inside!
If you want to direct any comments to my parents go ahead, they will be reading what you have to say.

Thank you Mom and Dad for allowing me to share your gorgeous home. I love you!

Happened upon your blog this morning and love it!!!! Your parents house is just wonderful, love it to! I actually grew up in Fort Worth, my parents were raised in Lake Worth and Azle, my mom is laid to rest in Azle. I still have lots of family in Texas, I will send them your way for treasure hunting!......My hubby and I moved to Indiana 8yrs ago to the area he grew up.....but my roots will always be in Texas! So glad I found your blog!

We have an old saying in our family, "When you plant beans, you get BEANS!" We use it mostly in a joking manner when we or our girls do something goofy. In your case, you have inherited your parents eye for beauty. Their home is just lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! This is both an elegant and warm home, filled with all the things your parents hold dear! I'm so impressed with it all; guests must love coming to their home. Thanks for the tour.

I went to the website you sent me to, and saw your mom's work. Okay, do I need to say it? What took you so long to take up the paint brush? Clearly you have inherited loads of talent.

Haha...you are so funny Anita! I don't know. Probably a combination of low self esteem as a child and seeing what my mom had to go through by not finishing college. My mom worked so hard her whole life working low paying retail jobs because she dropped out of Texas Tech (ART MAJOR) to marry my dad her Junior year. She only recently, in the last 10 years or so, became so successful with her art and was "discovered". She always pushed me to have something to fall back on and to just do art as a hobby (hence my degree in education). I'm so glad she did! But at the same time you can't fight your true, God- given self, and as you can see I have slowly gravitated towards the art.

Beautiful home. Love the brick floor. Looks like a great basket in the corner of the dining room. Would love to see more of the kitchen. Is that a copper hood? Love to see full shots of the master bedroom. I can tell it is gorgeous. Just my style.

I just recently found you blog and I just love it. You are an amazing painter. I love all your whites, being a white lover too. I have to ask about the brick pavers in the dinning room, how did you do that and are they new or old. I love the idea and I would love to try it in my office.
