Sweet Southern Vintage things are on my mind tonight...
Like old hymns and paper fans.

Makes me want to throw on a ruffle-y retro apron and bake a sweet buttermilk pie and a PEE-CAN pie...

Or How about the lazy creaking of a porch swing a-rockin'?

I've always wanted some willow wood porch furniture. It's so rustic and unique.

This pretty vintage Southern belle dress is sublimely ethereal, I can picture it with gloves and pearls!

How about some iced tea? We drink it year round down here in Texas yawl! And it better be fresh brewed. None of that instant nonsense. You don't know how many times my mother said she missed Texas tea when we lived up north. I have a special place in my heart for the Luby's Cafeteria tea ladies.

Or a big old farm table to gather 'round and snap green beans for supper. I love a table that is so timeworn that it takes a beating everyday but only gets more beautiful because of it.

Well, time to gather up the youngin's and throw 'em in the tub.

Oh my, I absolutely LOVE that church photo! I don't have a Southern bone in my body, by nearly every time I type the word, "blessings", I miss type it as, "blessins" and it makes me think maybe I have at least a Southern index finger! ;0)
ReplyDeleteFun post Linsey! I may not be a southern belle, but I do appreciate y'alls southern charm. :@
ReplyDeleteY'all are so sweet in the South! I must visit sometime!Nothing like Southern hospitality!

I'm not from the south... but I am so southern at heart! I love the life you just pictured!!! I certainly am a country girl!
ReplyDeleteI'm not from the South either, but my Grandma was. It must be my "roots" making me feel weepy over these things-or maybe I'm just a little crazy : )
ReplyDeleteI appreciate this lovely post.

Love your home! Just found your Framhouse site today via My French Country Home. Will stop by again - busy renovating a farmhouse w 5 acres in a sleepy coastal town in Oregon. Your decorating style is very similar to mine - very comfy but chic!
ReplyDeleteI just love living in the south. Cute post!
ReplyDeleteThat apron!!! Actually... everything. I could have been lost on this post for days. Would it be weird if I wanted to get married in that dress?
ReplyDeleteNew follower here via DIY Dreamer. Beautiful photos. I would love for you to come share at my Farm Girl Blog Fest: http://fresh-eggs-daily.blogspot.com/2012/11/farm-girl-blog-fest-7.html
