Is this a French Laundry Basket or what?!? I need your feedback.

*** Don't forget to link up to Cowgirl Up! Tuesdays, the party begins at 8:30 central time on Monday nights!***
Can anyone tell me about this basket? It looks VERY old. It has wood rails that look timeworn on the bottom and wood poles on the corners. Is it a french laundry basket? I found some online that looked almost identical and they were $200!
It is huge! Both of my girls can sit in it together. I am hoping that some of you French antique collectors can tell me my suspicion is correct. Like I said, it looks very old, which you can't really tell from the pictures.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this!

  2. 1.99 at Goodwill yesterday. Two ladies tried to buy it from me in the parking lot while I was putting it in my car. I'm hoping this is one of those hidden treasure moments I always hear about on antiques roadshow. LOL!!

Even if it isn't french...it's old, cool and was 2 bucks! So worth it

No matter what it's worth, it's a great basket! Check out "The Occasional Pat" blog. She lives in France and maybe she could help you out. And isn't Miss Flibbertigibet in France right now? Let us know if you can retire on the profits. :@

  13. I'm no expert but I did love one (I think) exactly like that so much that I bought it for about $100 at antique store. I used to have a larger house and could use it on top of an armoire. Right now it is in the attic but seeing your photo makes me want to get it back out.I saw your post over at Cowgirl Up! party.
