How much does it cost to have someone design your blog?

What is the average cost to have a professional design your blog? Is it more than $100?

I have no idea what it costs but I am seriously considering it because my layout needs a serious facelift!

Here are today's "around the house" practice shots!

This first one is my little antique keys that I added to the old books on the mantel. One of my favorite things that I own! I need to get more of these. They just seem to add that little bauble-ness to anything, like room jewelry.

This one is my wire rack shelf in the living room. I'm about to have to find a new home for it becaue I got the most awesome crusty, chippy, zinc wall mounted shelves to go here. I can't WAIT to show them to you guys.

And a couple of shots of the new wire basket/shelf things I bought a an awesome antique mall up in DFW over the holidays. I'm going to mount these in my office/art sudio on the wall to keep my paints in (the room is TINY so I need to start using the vertical space).

Ok, back to my project. I'm attempting to make a metal cakeplate. I hope to share that with you soon, if it turns out presentable.
Have a lovely Friday!

  4. Do you have Photoshop Elements? I am happy to help you, but clearly I'm not a pro. First step, check out a bunch of blogs, and find 3 or 4 that have layout/designs that you like, then get back with me. Let's try doing it ourselves to save you some money. Sometimes you can buy a template too, but I decided to go with my own photos.

  5. I had my blog done about three years ago and it was about $30.00. I bet it is more now. I know there are ways to do it yourself and that's what I would recommend.

Love your pictures today! The keys and the book look so cute...I am inspired to do something like this!

    Happy Weekend!

  6. I love wire stuff too. Anything wire and I am attracted to it~I had my blog done over a year ago and it was ala carte. So it was very inexpensive to have the parts done that you wanted done...

  7. Those keys tied with ribbon do add the perfect touch of bling to the vintage books. I really like those rectangular wire baskets too. That will be great storage. Can't wait to see your new shelves when you get them hung!

  8. Hello, I looked through your RT Pics and didn't see pics of my booth. I was around the corner by the Junk Gypsies directly in front of the Zapp Hall building. I do hope you come out to Urban Market, I'd love to meet you or the Red Barn Antique Show is next weekend in Round Top. Have a great weekend, Therea

  11. If you want a photo blog banner, I found a wonderful tutorial at:
    http://www.memoriesoncloverlane.com/2009/08/tutorial-on-how-to-make-blog-banner.html

I am totally lost when it comes to the technical part of blogging, but I followed these simple step by step instructions and it worked like a charm. If you haven't downloaded Picasa, it's a MUST! I have very limited daylight hours for picture taking, so I often have to lighten up my photos with Picasa free photo editing.

I like your green background. It looks so fresh in this gloomy time of year!

  12. I think your blog is beautiful! I love the greens. Different designers charge differently, but yes, I'd say it's in that range.

  16. Love your posts. I am your newest follower.
I had my blog designed by Shari of Little Blue Deer and she did a wonderful job. She does gorgeous work... Check out Party Resources, the Enchanted Home and others. I am a newbie and she was very patient and helpful with me. Not cheap, but worth it for me. I don't know how to post a link to it in this comment box on my ipad but if you go to my blog, her link is at the very bottom. :-).

  17. I just became a follower. Love the keys. I collect them and they are a lot of fun. My daughter is really into keys and got a bunch in frames for Christmas. I like your blog look, but if you are looking for someone, you might try Karen at Valentine Designs. She has a blog http://mydesertcottage.blogspot.com and her design part is http://www.karenvalentinedesign.com. No affiliation though we are both in AZ.
