Howdy Ya'll! I've been in the mood for all things AUTUMN this week. Browsing through your creative photos on Pinterest, facebook and blogland has really inspired me. I wanted to do some sort of festive fall "welcome" display in the entry of my house. I had the opportunity to go shopping this week all by myself (no kiddos). I went just about everywhere! I visited Hobby Lobby, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Target, Dollar Stores, Home Goods even the thrift shops. But, just like when you want something to eat and nothing sounds good, nothing called my name to be bought. After all that wasted gas. :?
I kept returning to the thought that I owned everything I needed to make a great display. And what I didn't have, mother nature could provide. So I shopped my house! We've all done it right? You root around in the closets, garage and attic to rediscover your castaway items. They suddenly become treasures again!
So every single thing you see here came from the "Farmhouse Porch Market" and yard.
I think I may be getting better at this "arrangement" business. Here's what I did last year FARMHOUSE FALL TABLESCAPE. Looking back at old projects is like looking at a dated hairstyle. I always pick it to pieces...do you ever feel that way too?
You yankees send me some of that crisp, cool air down here in Texas okay?

Very pretty.. I am really luving the natural approach. Making me rethink some of my decor.. Hmmm... Virginia creeper = vine wreath.. or garland. Nandina berries = colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your luvly decor.
Cheers, Gee
Thank you Gee!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best kind of shopping! Your "mantel" table looks so welcoming with all the treasures you already had. I'll send you some cool air next week. We've got a 70 degree weekend forecast. Yipee!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vickie, yes...send that cold air on down!!

ReplyDeleteSuch a great fall vignette! I love your attitude... shop the house! You could not have picked anything more chic and better for fall! Incorporating white pitchers in your fall design was brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLooking at your displays, I'd say you couldn't have done any better at any of those stores. You have the best shop in your house.
ReplyDeleteLinsey, Your entry looks lovely. I really like the contrast of all you pretty whites with the wooden crates. Perfect!

So pretty--love the warm whites you choose.
ReplyDeleteThat is a winning trio-natural, neutral and free- and just the way I like it. Very pretty! Love the raffia in the pitchers and the basket full of pillows too.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best kind of shopping!!! And it was free :-)! Your fall vignette looks beautiful!

And it is all just perfect and says fall. Sorry you wasted gas. You already had everything you needed.
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous. That's what I've done this year. I DO NOT need to bring anything else into my home! Love the wheat, and those pitchers are divine!
ReplyDeleteOh..it all looks so charming...love all your ironstone pitchers with those tiny white pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
It looks very welcoming. I had to go check out your table last year and I like that one too. I go back and forth between whether I like neutrals or more traditional fall colors. That's probably why I haven't put out much fall decor yet. I can't decide!
ReplyDeleteI love shopping at home, too! Great prices. :) Friendly staff. :) And if I liked it once, I usually still like it.
ReplyDeleteYour display is charming, Linsey!

I'm with you Linsey and this year have only shopped my own home. I love your arrangements and palette...I'm not a huge fan of orange so am loving all the white pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteSending some cool weather down from the Adirondacks!
