HoWdY CoWgIrLs and BoYs!

First of all I have two important announcements. We are moving up our party time by a few hours. Instead of beginning on Monday nights at 8:30 pm, we will now go live at 5 pm.

The second announcement is about something exciting we are starting in December! And since Samantha summed it up so wonderfully last week I am just going to use her words...

Starting in December, each week, we’ll select someone new to guest host for Cowgirl Up.
Now here comes the best part, it could be YOU! If you are selected, you will be introduced in the Cowgirl Up post for that week, and we'll include a link to your blog. We’ll send you the code for the party ahead of time, so that’s a post you don’t have to write! Lots of fantastic exposure for you, and the post is written for you, how cool is that?

Are you interested yet? I sure hope so, because we’re going to need 52 guest hosts each year.
And now for my featured link ups from last weeks' party!

And of course, with my love for bottle brush trees, I had to share these lovely Christmas craft ideas by Quirky Quail.♥

Now about the party...

Another New Hutch. I SWEAR I don't have a problem.

This is the third white hutch this dining room has seen in one year. And I swear it's the last. On my honor...swear! The first "hutch" really wasn't a hutch at all but an old secretary with a drop front desk. The second hutch, here "Old Museum White Chippy Hutch", was really cool but way too small and dinky for the big long dining room wall. Also, it only had room to display less than half of my ironstone collection, which OMGOSH...I didn't realize I had amassed so much of in a year. More on THAT in a minute.

Anyways, I have a friend who has a shop and I asked her Friday "When are you gonna sell me this "NFS" hutch that i've had my eye on for a year?" and her reply was "How about $75 for it?"

Um.

SOLD to the ironstone addict in the Texas A&M shirt!!!

Next I had to coax the hubs to help me pick it up today, the poor fellow only wanted to veg after a day of children's birthday parties and celebrating a major win by the Aggies last night. But when I act like a toddler and beg and plead he usually gives in. Love him so much!

I swear I haven't spent a fortune on ironstone either. Some of my pitchers are family heirlooms. The rest I have just gradually picked up along the way for cheap. I weeded out some pieces that I have duplicates of and will put those up for sale in my Etsy shop. So please come check it out if you collect it too.

You might notice that the drawers and doors are missing on the bottom. My friend says she might have them in storage, but if she can't find them what should I do? I was thinking some little burlap curtains? Or should I try to build doors? Ugh...

Right now I just have old suitcases down there. It looks ok, but not great.

What would you do?

I tell you what though...I am going to have SO much fun playing "shelf dress up" for Christmas this year!!! Ideas are buzzing away in this A.D.D. brain of mine. So I wanted to show you the blank canvas before I bedazzle it in holiday bling. :D

Hugs and Sugar!

Can you believe it is already November?! I am so excited that the holiday season has officially begun. This month will be filled with so much fun-- preparing for my sister's baby shower, Thanksgiving, and I am hosting my first on-line trunk show for my clothing line. November is going to be great!

Baby Shower Here, Thanksgiving Here, SCD Clothing
Some new exciting things are happening around Cowgirl Up --- and they involve you!
Beginning in December, we will be adding a new host to our line up. For those of you that link up, that means even more exposure for your blog. But here’s the thing. We LOVE meeting new bloggers, and even more we LOVE helping bloggers, so how can we possibly decide on just one? Well the truth is… we can’t! So we came up with an idea I think you are going to love.
We will have a different guest host every week! That’s right, each week, we’ll select someone new to guest host for Cowgirl Up.

So what do you need to do to be considered? It’s easy, simply leave a comment on this post, mention that you want to be considered, and be sure to include a link to your blog. It’s that simple.

Oh and I almost forgot, you DO NOT need to be Texan or even American. That’s the great thing about the internet; we can include our friends around the globe.

Sweet Southern Pies and Porch Swings...

Sweet Southern Vintage things are on my mind tonight...

Makes me want to throw on a ruffle-y retro apron and bake a sweet buttermilk pie and a PEE-CAN pie...

I've always wanted some willow wood porch furniture. It's so rustic and unique.

This pretty vintage Southern belle dress is sublimely ethereal, I can picture it with gloves and pearls!

How about some iced tea? We drink it year round down here in Texas yawl! And it better be fresh brewed. None of that instant nonsense. You don't know how many times my mother said she missed Texas tea when we lived up north.  I have a special place in my heart for the Luby's Cafeteria tea ladies.

Or a big old farm table to gather 'round and snap green beans for supper. I love a table that is so timeworn that it takes a beating everyday but only gets more beautiful because of it.

Welcome to Week 39 of The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!

Welcome to Week 39
of
The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!

Your Host this week is . . .
I've been super busy lately.  One reason is that we just bought a new place close to Mr. CH's office and are building a new house. If you missed the post, you can find it here.  It will look something like the one below.  I'm pinning like crazy, so if you want to see my inspiration boards, you can find the one for the house here and the kitchen one here.

This should keep me busy for awhile.  I started to say "out of trouble" but I"m not sure that would be accurate!  Case in point, Mr. CH has already asked in an accusing sort of way if I was going to start buying stuff for the new house now, although it won't be ready until April or May.  I said, "Of course not," exasperated that he would ask such a ridiculous question... I mean.... the nerve!!!  I continued, "The new house won't be ready for months, and we don't have room to store anything extra."  (To quote George from Seinfeld, "It's not a lie, if YOU believe it.")  And I did believe it... at the time, but to date I have purchased one large mirror, a console and a bookcase for the new house, and maybe a few other things.  #slappingmyownhand.
Here are the features for this week...
Betsy from Coastal Colors found an easy way to transfer a graphic to wood.

From Generation to Generation talked about gathering walnuts
Fancy Frugal Life made me hungry with their homemade noodles.
Chaos in my Casa showed the gradual changes to her dining room
Twigg Studio made deer antlers from straws, for real!!
Ranger 911 has the most darling red cross display
